Tommy Royer

I started my fitness journey during my senior year of high school and wasn’t really sure what I was doing. I wasn’t sure if what I was doing was safe or effective, let alone right for me. Heck, I didn’t know my quadriceps from my pancreas (okay, kidding, I knew a little more than that). Upon graduating high school I decided to attend James Madison University (JMU) as an undeclared major not knowing what I wanted out of life.
There were only two things that I knew I wanted, no, needed from my career. The first being that I was in a career that allowed me to help others, and second, that I loved what I did and genuinely enjoyed it.

Fast forward to today, and that’s still what I’m doing. My journey as an online fitness coach began when I graduated JMU in May of 2016. I graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Exercise Science, while having already obtained my CSCS and USAW. Also, I had obtained over 1,600 hours of experience as a strength and conditioning intern/volunteer working under 8 different strength and conditioning coaches, which included working with JMU’s Football, Women’s Lacrosse, Men and Women’s Tennis, Swim and Dive, Men’s Soccer, Track and Field, and Cross Country teams.

Tommy displayed an in-depth knowledge of the human body and the way it moves and should move. Each exercise was carefully explained with continuing cues to improve my form when it was even slightly off. Tommy was also responsive and helpful in dealing with various injuries. Mary Huff
